Located in Boston, Bay Cove Human Services is a private, nonprofit corporation that provides a wide variety of services to children, adults and their families with mental illness, addiction disorders and developmental disabilities. Founded in 1959, it serves more than 12,000 individuals and their families at over 80 program sites throughout Greater Boston and southeast Massachusetts. The agency offers a wide variety of services, such as treatment programs for adults with substance abuse disorders, and day support, residential and employment services for adults with mental retardation and developmental disabilities. The agency s child and family services and facilities include the early intervention program, a nursery school, child development center and family support. It runs a therapeutic school approved by the Department of Education, serving more than 40 adolescents with a history of emotional, behavioral and learning disabilities. Bay Cove Human Services also offers training to human services professionals.
