General Info
Southworth Associates is a limited liability corporation created by John Southworth in 1998 to provide interventions, consulting, and monitoring services. John has been active in the field of substance abuse, mental health counseling and treatment since 1983. He started his professional career performing DUI evaluations for the State of Idaho. Within a year he had earned his Certified Alcohol and Drug Certification ( CADC ), and soon after he had performed his first intervention. In 1993, John began working with the Idaho Medical Association and the Idaho State Board of Medicine as coordinator of the Physician Recovery Network. John originally founded Southworth Associates to help facilitate his interventions and monitor a few doctors in the Physicians Recovery Network. Since 1998 Southworth Associates has grown in both scope and size. Currently Southworth Associates monitors hundreds of individuals in six different programs through our Boise headquarters. John Southworth still performs interventions on a regular basis, but now he has a large network of intervention specialists assisting him. Intervention services are available for individuals and families on the national and international level. Southworth Associates has specialized in protecting the public from unsafe practice by impaired professionals while assisting the professional to seek the help they need for their addiction. Since its founding in 1998, Southworth Associates has been a resource for licensed professionals, their families, colleagues, and other professional affiliates. Southworth Associates works in a manner consistent with the laws and medical practice acts of the State of Idaho to provide a safe environment in a medical setting and in conjunction with the appropriate State Medical Association. Through our affiliation with the Federation of State Physician Health Programs, we can also provide services to professionals not licensed locally.
