We work with individuals with a wide range of clients with functional impairments resulting from injury. Medical issues. Congenital conditions. And aging. They MAY have deficits in visual perceptual abilities cognition. Physical skills. Mobility. And / or cognitive functioning. OUR clients include experienced drivers seeking to GET back behind the wheel. AS well AS those with little or NO experience WHO wish to learn to drive. PHWS provides clients with thorough. Concise recommendations regarding vehicle modifications. Driver training. And licensing issues. OUR staff is available to consult with clients. Care providers. Mobility equipment dealers. And third party payers to facilitate the process of training and successfully driving a modified VEHICLE. IF necessary. OUR training vehicle CAN BE used for a DMV road test. We CAN devise an appropriate training program. For those under eighteen that have completed classroom instruction and are in need of specialized driver training. We offer a nine hour behind the wheel course. The training is done in a CAR equipped with an instructor brake and if needed, a full range of adaptive driving controls is available.
