- Anne Andersson was born in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1961. Anne's desire to explore nature, along with a passion for art, led her to pursue a degree in Science, while freelancing as an artist and illustrator. In 1986, Anne moved to Florida to unite with family. Following her graduation from the Fort Lauderdale Art Institute, Anne met Don Moore, an accomplished artist and set designer. Don served as her mentor and they collaborated on a variety of projects until his death in 1994. Anne's talents in painting, weaving and illustration, combined with her intuitive knowledge and attention to detail, result in the incredible life-size wildlife trophies that she produces today. Each is an original work of art, created from sisal fibers, skillfully formed and hand-painted. Anne's deepest passion is for the wild cats, and her tribute to these animals embodies her dedication to conservationist ideals and the preservation of the species.

- Artistic mastery, structural perfection, and reverence for our vanishing natural world; these are the hallmarks of the Living Series of naturalistic bronzes by noted British sculptor, Brian Arthur. Whether gracefully fluid in motion or magnificently majestic in repose, these maquette-sized sculptures of exotic waterfowl, dolphins, sea lions and more serve as inspiring reminders of the living art that exists around us. Nature's grace is truly captured in these elegant bronze works, each of which is hand signed and certified by the artist. Brian Arthur began his career in the English pottery country of Staffordshire. After graduating in sculpture and art history from Southport College of Arts, he pursued the study of form and structure, spending two years at the Burstein School of Industrial Design. Brian then joined Chelsea Pottery in London where he trained in hand-thrown sculpture and ornamental design. When this prestigious studio opened a branch in the Bahamas, he was selected to assist local craftsmen and artists in the production of sculpture and pottery. After his work in a variety of media took Mr. Arthur to France and Italy, he was invited to America by sculptor, Felix DeWeldon to collaborate on several major commemorative public sculptures, including the Iwo Jima and Harry S. Truman monuments in Washington, DC. Brian Arthur's bronze sculptures are cast using the lost wax process, polished, then patinaed in rich earth tones. The exquisite patinas on his bronzes beautifully enhance their composition, sometimes resembling fine veined marble. Currently Brian Arthur works at his studios in the U.S. and Devon, England.

- The imaginative and fanciful CARLOS & ALBERT COLLECTION is the unique collaborative effort of two individuals from vastly diverse cultures- Carlos Munoz, a native Mexican, and Albert Ickenroth, from Holland. Born in Amsterdam, Albert studied both art and economics at the University of Amsterdam. Albert's fascination with the great masters of his homeland inspired him to seek an outlet for his own creative energies. In 1974, Albert traveled to Mexico on vacation and was infatuated with the people, the color, and the culture. He decided to take up permanent residence in Jalisco, the region that is home to many of Mexico's finest artisans. Establishing himself in Guadalajara, Albert began working with several of the area's foremost artisans, learning the labor-intensive techniques of papier mache sculpture. He then applied his talents to other media, including ceramics, metal sculpture, and jewelry.

- Catherine Labonte is a glass artist, inspired by animal behavior and cartoons. Catherine received a Fine Art diploma in 2001 and a Glass Art diploma in 2002. Since 2002, she has been actively involved in the glass community, creating and exhibiting her original glass characters. Catherine states: "Cartoons were always a part of my life. As a child, I was fascinated by their antics- and simplicity. Originally, I began by copying popular cartoons to entertain my friends. Eventually, I created my own characters, in particular, cats. During my studies in fine art, these small characters continued to be my primary source of inspiration. I could have purused illustration, but I wanted to bring dimensionality to my work. In order to do this, it may have been a more practical choice to use a different medium, but none attracted me more than glass. I use glass because of the simple lines, the brightness, the translucent and colorful properties, as well as for the technical challenges. With glass, I hope to create objects that evoke laughter and wonder, in order to lighten the heart."

- Since 1998, Chickenscratch jewelry has been created by the husband and wife team of Lisa and Scott Cylinder. Both are schooled jewelry artists, who met as students. In an effort to create unconventional, yet well-executed jewelry, they decided to try to change the world, one piece at a time. Their jewelry is made mostly from brass sheet and wire that is hand cut and manipulated. The pieces are finished using numerous methods which create a variety of colors, including a unique patination process, various colored leafs, bright enamel paints, luminous mica powders, and silver and gold plating. Chickenscratch cleverly blends color, concepts, and movable elements resulting in highly amusing, yet immensely wearable jewelry.

- Cynthia Chuang and Erh-Ping Tsai met as classmates at the National Academy of Arts in their native Taiwan. To further their studies in the arts, the newly married couple immigrated to the United States, earning their M.F.A. degrees at Parsons School of Design. As their creative oeuvre began to evolve, Cynthia and Erh-Ping became attracted to personal ornamentation and jewelry as their ideal vehicle of expression. The exquisite details and rich colors of the Egyptian Imperial jewelry, married with their mastery of Oriental ceramic technology, provide the foundation for their remarkably intricate work. The couple's design concepts derive from their deep respect for nature. Their partiality for insects, fish and other creatures are reminiscent of the imagery that has been depicted in Chinese art for centuries; the use of natural elements in the porcelain and mixed media jewelry is intentional. In creating their highly imaginative and truly original wearable art, Cynthia Chuang and Erh-Ping Tsai live and work together in perfect harmony- a classic example of art imitating life.

- Dan and Nisha met as classmates at the Art Centre of Toronto, Canada, in 1986. Receiving their degrees, respectively, in sculpture and illustration, Dan and Nisha purchased a kiln and began working together, initiating the collaborative effort that has evolved into their current art form. In 1994, the couple moved to a warehouse-loft apartment bulding populated by artists, musicians and performers. Here, Nisha, a gymnast, founded an aerial and trapeze troupe, fulfilling her life-long fascination with the circus. Seeking an alternative lifestyle, in 2001, Dan and Nisha moved to the charming Mexican artists' colony of San Miguel de Allende. Nisha established a new chapter of her trapeze troupe, and the couple now lives and works in their adopted homeland, surrounded by inspiration. Dan and Nisha's interests and talents combine to form a unique partnership. Inspired by the joy of the circus and the splendor of the natural world, their exquisitely decorated earthenware bowls are mounted on lively horses, elephants, cheetahs, lions and zebras. Nisha uses the bowl as a surface on which to draw and paint; Dan constructs the foundation of the figures. Married in both art and life, Dan and Nisha give new meaning to the word "collaboration."

- Tim Cotterill was born in Leicester, England in 1950. At the age of fifteen, he left school to complete a six-year engineering apprenticeship. This metal-directed education provided the foundation for Tim's subsequent career in the arts. Intrigued with metalworking, Tim initially sculpted radical wheeled vehicles. During the seventies and eighties, he became interested in the design of animals and birds- working in steel, bronze and gold. Tim's curiosity of the diverse lifestyles of California led to many trips to the USA and finally to his immigrating to California in 1990. These high-energy surroundings gave new direction to his work, eventually leading to his exclusive focus on frogs as his now signature subject matter. Produced in limited edition bronze and enhanced by the most brilliant patinas, Tim's frogs are both whimsical and elegant. In capturing the spirit and vitality of these beautiful creatures, he artfully accomplishes his stated goal of bringing more joy and happiness into our lives- and validates his rightful designation as "FROGMAN." PAVO REAL has been recognized as one of a very select group of top-selling FROGMAN galleries. Please contact us to inquire about our selection of rare and sold-out FROGMAN editions.

- "I am very sensitive to shapes, textures, and finishes, and view everything I see in terms of references for my work. I collect objects, new and used, and keep them in my studio for inspiration, and they often sit on my shelves until an idea just comes to me one day. I like movement and enjoy creating mechanisms that allow for it. Humor is important in my work and my live, a very direct humor that is slightly bemused. What I like best is creating something that has never existed before. My jewelry is known for its clean, uncomplicated and contemporary lines. Bold lines and an up-front whimsy prevail. Tiny toys and three-dimensional sculptural jewelry are my favorite avenues of creation. I love the intimate scale that this work provides both as the maker and as a viewer, and I love watching the reaction of discovery when others notive the tiny and unexpected details within my work. I work primarily in precious metals and combine them mostly with found objects. I utilize a variety of traditional metalsmithing and silversmithing techniques, including fabrication, soldering, riveting, raising, dapping, forging, and stone setting. All of my jewelry is fabricated by hand. I prefer to do one-of-a-kind pieces; if I choose to duplicate a design, there are always subtle differences in the subsequent work. My artistic journey began as a small child and throughout my growing up as I experimented with beading, ceramics, sewing and textiles, glass, painting, sculpture, music, and more. I have always had my art as a foundation to create, an outlet to ground my otherwise busy life.

- Born in Rotterdam, Holland, Loet Vanderveen's creative odyssey began as a fashion designer in Zurich, London and, eventually, New York. Here, he studied ceramics and glaze chemistry and began creating ceramic pottery as a more challenging outlet for his talents. In 1959, Loet Vanderveen moved to a home in Big Sur, California, perched eighteen hundred feet above the Pacific Ocean. Working in the isolated splendor of this environment, Loet has since mastered the objective observation of animal life. His elegant, stylized limited edition bronze animal forms are enhanced by the subtlest patinas; while omitting details, he succeeds brilliantly in portraying the essence of the animal. Today Loet Vanderveen enjoys a reputation as one of the foremost sculptors of animal life, and his work has been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the world. A frequent world traveler, Loet Vanderveen continues to seek inspiration from the graceful images of nature from the many lands he visits.

- Chris Barela spent his formative years surfing in Orange County in SouthernCalifornia. Having achieved great success in the world of competitive professional surfing, Chris moved his home and studio to the big island of Hawaii. Chris' first-hand observation of the marine life near his home enables him to sculpt magnificent undersea creatures- from the tiniest seahorse to muscular game fish, such as Marlin. Through careful study and documentation, Chris brings life to his favored subjects using the ancient method of lost wax casting. Of particular interest to Chris, are the charming turtles that he often sees from his surfboard. The wisdom and playful demeanor of these sage elder statesmen who reside beneath the waves provide Chris with endless subject matter for his artwork. "Each turtle has a unique personality; the way they cruise around at a leisurely pace is a reminder to us humans to slow down and enjoy life."

- Michael Hopko's background in glass began in 1990 as an art student at Shasta College. He began studying ceramics and became infatuated with glass from the moment he began his first class. Following college, Michael worked as an apprentice glass blower with several glass artists in California. In 1996, he founded his own glass studio. An avid fisherman since the age of three, Michael's passion for sealife is clearly the inspiration for his unique body of work. Michael has developed a collection of hand blown glass sculptures that combine art and craftsmanship, capturing the beauty and motion of nature through his chosen medium- glass.

- Out of the Bowl's line of limited edition, hand-painted sculptures will have you playing with your food in no time. Each lifesize sculpture is guaranteed to satisfy your hunger for fun! Designer Thad Markham is a California native, born and raised in the mountains of Southern California. His youth was spent skiing competitively every winter and racing around Big Bear Lake on jet skis and waterskis all summer. Thad pursued an engineering degree at UCSB and worked in his field for a brief time before striking out for more exciting pastures as an entrepeneur. Years of hard work and long hours later, his business a roaring success, Thad's ever-active mind sought new challenges. It all started with the bananas. One bright sunny morning he was sitting at breakfast and his glance fell on a bunch of bananas at the table. "That's funny," he said to himself, "it almost looks like they're dancing." Thus began his preoccupation with the secret lives of fruits and vegetables. He began haunting the produce department of the grocery store, his mind captivated with a single burning question... What do the fruits and vegetables do at night when no one is watching? Have a look at "Out of the Bowl" to find out!

- Born in Ohio and raised in the Southwest, Will Bullas enrolled at Arizona State University and was majoring in fine arts with a minor in dramatic arts when he was drafted. In Vietnam, his first professional pieces were pencil portraits of fellow soldiers, which were sent to loved ones back home. Returning from military duty, he enrolled in the Brooks Institute of Fine Art in Santa Barbara, California and graduated with a degree in oil painting. With the encouragement of his wife, Claudia, he then quit his printing press job-reproducing the work of other artists-and concentrated on his own art. The couple settled in Carmel, California, where Will's exclusive relationship with galleries resulted in a growing group of dedicated, enthusiastic collectors. Will's awards include the Strathmore Award at the 1981 Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Exhibition, the William G. Morrison Award from the Adirondacks Exhibition of American Watercolors, the First Place Award at the 1990 Signature Membership Exhibition of the National Watercolor Society and the California Watercolor Association's 1997 Silver Medal. He is a proud member of the American Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society and the Knickerbocker Artists of New York. In 2002, Will was awarded the prestigious Dagmar Tribble Memorial Award by the American Watercolor Society. Will Bullas makes fine art fun. A master of one-liners, Will combines his award-winning artistic skills with a hilarious point of view; creating a refreshing and unexpected new way to enjoy fine art. For the past forty years, he has been making believers of collectors and critics, alike.

- Scott Bisson begn his journey in glass at the age of seventeen in a high school chemistry class. Bending glass tubing over a flame piqued his interest, and, unknowingly, a lifetime obsession and career began. After several years as a hobbyist, Scott worked under the guidance and tutelage of several master glass artists. For the next four years he worked as a flame worker and furnace worker. In 1994 he took a class at the Pilchuck School, and this was a turning point. According to Scott, "Pilchuck opened my eyes and imagination to what was truly possible, and I have never recovered." In 2004, he lived and studied in Murano, Italy under the direction of Cesare Toffolo. Scott has now been blowing glass for more than twenty years. He specializes in borosilicate (a pyrex glass) flame-work and translates his love of nature into his remarkable repertoire of glass critters. Scott has a very high intensity method of producing art. If he isn't sweating and racing around the studio like a madman, he just isn't doing his best. He believes that energy and excitement create the best. work. "I put a little bit of myself into everywork of art that I create. That is how I breathe life into each piece. Skill is the raw material of a great piece, and drive and energy make it take shape."

- Todd Warner's love for animals was sparked in his childhood in rural, central Michigan. Spending much time in the woods, Todd made friends with the groundhogs, chipmunks and owls, communicating and connecting with them on many levels. A love of sketching led Todd to study art over veterinary medicine at Central Michigan University. Following a brief career teaching art, he decided to devote his efforts to the design and creation of his sculptures. In 1981, Todd moved to South Florida where the sun, the climate, the wildlife, and the diversity of peoples provided new inspiration for his work. Here, Todd Warner's signature sculptures were born: flattened, elongated figures, with truly distinctive personalities. Internationally recognized for his irresistible animal sculptures, Todd Warner captures with vision and insight the essence of animals, preserving not only the animals of nature but also the nature of animals. His ability to connect with his subject matter enables him to recreate them in minute detail, breathing life and personality into each of his pieces.

- "I enjoy creating simple and functional forms that act as a canvas for my colorful, fun, and familiar imagery." Deb Fleck-Stabley has been exploring the medium of clay for over thirty years. She shares her home studio with artist-husband, Dave, her children, and pets. Her natural surroundings and fascination with plant and animal life provide endless inspiration for her work. Deb hand builds each of her ceramic pieces, decorates them with underglazes and glazes, and fires them at least twice in an oxidation kiln. Imagery is repeated, but no two pieces are exactly alike. Fleck-Stabley's experience with clay began as an undergraduate while taking electives towards her Art Education degree, which she earned in 1980 from Millersville University in Pennsylvania. She continued exploring the medium of clay in graduate school. Today, Deb creates work for galleries, participates in juried shows and events, and teaches in a variety of workshop settings.
