Established in 1948, Tri-State Electric Membership Corporation is a rural electric cooperative corporation serving several communities in Georgia, North Carolina and Tennessee. The cooperative consists of more than 16,000 customer-owners and is governed by an elected board of directors. It offers several value-added services and products beyond electrical service, including home surge suppression, outdoor lighting and energy efficiency consultation. The company also offers a heat pump program that includes financing through Tri-State Electric. It also offers its customers a variety of bill payment methods, such as automatic draft, online payment and designated payment centers at various local banks. Tri-State Electric Membership employs more than 50 people and is headquartered in Blue Ridge, Ga.
