I live in Blowing Rock. The food is good and reasonably priced. This is one of two restaurants left in Blowing Rock with a great view. The other one is Restaurant G at the Gideon Ridge bed and breakfast, and it is not open for lunch. Dinner there is also three times more expensive than at Canyons. I strongly suggest looking at the items on the specials list, which changes everyday.

We sat in the bar area at the windows where there is an absolutely spectacular view. As we were finishing up an employee came over and closed the blinds. You can see through these blue tinted plastic shades, but not as well as looking through the clear windows. She was making comments as she closed these shades about how much better one can see through the blue tinted shades. It would have been nice to sit for a few more minutes and take in the spectacular view of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Blowing Rock area without the shades on the windows. The food was good, and the service was good, but the shades could have remained open.
