Calhoun County Jail is operated by the Corrections Division, which is administered by the Sheriff s Office. Built in 1946, the facility houses various offenders and criminals. It coordinates a commissary program for inmates that help them to buy canteen items. The Sheriff s Office is administered by the government of Calhoun County in Florida. The office s law enforcement division is responsible for the investigation of various types of crimes. It also operates through court security, law enforcement, school safety and communication divisions. In addition, the Sheriff s Office coordinates the Keeping Independent Seniors Safe program, which serves more than 90 senior citizens.
