  Cabling can be used in mature trees to help support limbs that may be at risk of breaking or falling. Cabling involves installing cables between limbs to provide additional support, extending the life of the tree and reducing risk to property underneath the canopy. New dynamic cabling systems solve the problems of the old straps: anti-friction sleeves eliminate abrasion, shock absorbers allow for free movement, a loop in the cable allows for tree growth without girdling.
