Bloomington Junior High School has an enrollment of more than 1,600 students in grades six through eight. It is affiliated with Bloomington School District 87 and offers a curriculum that includes language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, visual arts, foreign language, applied technology, family and consumer sciences, and physical and health education. The sports activities offered by the school include basketball, wrestling, softball, cross country, chess and track and field. It provides a variety of extracurricular activities to students, such as Illinois Math and Science Academy, chorus, music, dramatics, geographic and spelling bee, jazz band, student council, scholastic bowl, choir and gardening. The school is located in Bloomington, Ill.
