General Info
Whatcom Electric and Plumbing has served Whatcom County since 1952 with their electrical and plumbing needs. Paul Vander Pol founded the company in 1952 and it is still in the family today. Since 1990 Stan and his wife have carried on the tradition of working in the family business. As an electrical contractor and a plumbing contractor, diversity has been in the forefront. In 2024 Stan's sons Tim and Ben Vander Pol and their wives have taken over the business to carry on the family business. You can call them for residential new construction to remodeling your home or office. Both plumbing and electrical service work is provided. When you need help with a leaky hotwater tank, or a drain that is clogged, to a pump that has stopped working, or you smell a burning smell in the electrical panel. Give them a call. Whatcom Electric and Plumbing have established a reputation for fair pricing and honest work. As with all established companies we yearly take continuing education classes to keep up with the ever changing code.

I had just about given up hope on finding a trustworthy and knowledgeable plumber. Before contacting Whatcom Electric and Plumbing, I have had unsatisfactory and financially descimating encounters with other local plumbers and plumbing companies, both large and well-known, and small handy-man/plumbers. When I called Whatcom Electric and Plumbing, the receptionist, Debby, was so helpful and friendly that I thought "maybe, just maybe, here is a company that won't take advantage of me." And they HAVEN'T! Their plumber, Daniel, completely rebuilt the plumbing under my kitchen sink after carefully explaining why I'd had consistent problems with leakage from different areas. It should NOT have taken four plumbers and over $700 in plumbing bills to plumb that sink properly! Daniel did it right the FIRST TIME, and the charges were extremely reasonable and fair. Today I asked them for a bid on something else. They explained that I really didn't need the plumbing I was considering doing, and told me how to work around the problem and still get a good result. Wow...honesty! What a concept! I feel so SAFE now when I have to do a plumbing or electrical repair because I know I can call Whatcom Electric and Plumbing--a small-town company made up of people who truly care about their community and their reputation in it.
