- Dental ExaminationWe recommend toothpaste that has the ADA seal of approval. Based on your latest dental exam, we may recommend specialized toothpaste to help with issues specific to your smile.
- X-raysParticularly in this modern age, dental x-rays are safer than ever. Dentists provide all necessary precautions to make sure that patients stay safe. X-rays provide valuable information that helps our staff protect your oral health. They give us information to catch things like tooth decay in the earlier stages, making it easier to treat.
- Oral Cancer Screening
- Teeth CleaningIt’s standard for everyone to visit the dentist at least twice a year for a dental cleaning and a thorough exam. Just like with children, our staff monitors your oral health to make sure things are going smoothly. If we notice anything problematic, we’ll let you know the steps to move forward.
- Fluoride Treatment
- Dental SealantsYour child should visit the dentist at least bi-annually for a regular checkup. The dentist monitors their oral health to make sure everything is progressing as it should. Permanent teeth are extremely susceptible to decay when they first come in. If we notice problems, we may recommend dental sealants and/or more frequent dental visits.
- Resin CompositeAlthough both of these treatments are similar, veneers are made of shells of porcelain ceramic while dental bonding uses resin composite material on teeth. Tooth whitening treatment can erase years of tooth stains for a brighter smile. Our office uses professional-grade bleaching agents to whiten teeth by multiple shades.
- VeneersThen, Dr. French will take impressions of your teeth, which are used to create your veneers. These impressions are sent to a dental lab where they will create custom veneers that match the color, shape, and size of your natural teeth.
- CrownsDental crowns are porcelain ceramic caps that fully cover teeth. Because they blend in with the look of natural teeth, crowns are a great treatment for restoring the aesthetics of the smile. Crowns can cover natural teeth or cap off dental implants for an effortless look.
- BridgesDental bridges are prosthetics that replace multiple missing teeth. Although they can be fixed or removable, many dentists recommend that patients receive fixed bridges secured by dental implants. Removable bridges do not provide enough stability. We recommend implant-supported bridges over removable options.
- Dental BondingPorcelain veneer treatment begins when Dr. French prepares the surface of the teeth for cosmetic bonding. After administering a local anesthetic, she will etch and buff a small portion of the tooth surface. This is done to ensure that the bonding material and veneers conform to the teeth.
- Restorative DentistryDo you have damaged or even missing teeth? Revitalize the look and function of your smile with restorative dentistry. At Bladenboro Family Dentistry, Dr. Shannon French helps her patients restore the full function of their teeth and gums. Using the latest dental techniques, Dr. French is able to treat gum infections, replace missing teeth, strengthen damaged teeth, and improve the health of the bite.
- Root Canal TreatmentDr. French offers root canal treatment to remove an infection from teeth. Root canals are needed when the dental pulp within a tooth is severely infected. The dental pulp is made up of nerves and blood vessels that keep the teeth healthy. When a dental infection reaches the pulp, it needs to be removed.
- Deep Cleaning
- DenturesDentures are the best restorative solution for patients with full rows or arches of lost teeth. Traditional removable dentures slip around the mouth and often require messy adhesives to stay in place. Implant-secured partial and full dentures are stable and make it easier to bite and speak.
- Dental ImplantsDental implants are a highly versatile treatment with a success rate of over 95%. However, smoking and tobacco use can increase the rate of implant failure. We recommend that patients refrain from smoking or using tobacco during their implant treatment and throughout the healing process.
- Oral SurgeryThe temporomandibular joint that connects the jawbone to the skull causes pain and dysfunction when it is injured. TMJ disorders create many symptoms that result from this joint’s dysfunction. Jaw and mouth exercises and bite guards can be used to alleviate stress and pressure on the jaw. Bite guards that are worn at night also prevent the teeth from wearing down. Oral surgery may be required if you have severe TMJ symptoms. We may refer you to a local surgeon for jaw surgery.
- Jaw Surgery
- Tooth ExtractionsDental extractions are often required for patients with severely infected, overcrowded, or impacted teeth. Removing teeth can also eliminate painful symptoms. Most people will have their wisdom teeth removed because there is not enough room in the mouth for them to emerge correctly.
- Bone GraftingThe best dental implant candidates have healthy teeth and gums and bone tissue that can properly support implants. However, we can treat patients for problems like tooth decay and gum disease prior to implant treatment. In addition, bone grafting or a sinus lift can help patients rebuild their bone structure if they have suffered significant bone loss.
- Invisalign OrthodonticsClear Aligners: Clear aligners are conservative options for patients that straighten crooked and misaligned teeth. Although Invisalign aligners are removable for ease of use, Six Month Smiles can offer quicker treatment for patients with more moderate orthodontic concerns.
- BracesSix Month Smiles braces have clear brackets. They help patients with more moderate or even severe orthodontic concerns who want a more conservative treatment than traditional braces. To learn more about how clear aligners can help correct your smile, see Clear Aligners.
- Teeth WhiteningStraightening crooked teeth or even whitening stained teeth helps patients better maintain their smiles. Additionally, patients who receive teeth whitening treatment are often motivated to maintain their bright results. If patients have a more balanced and uniform smile, they are better able to clean between their teeth to combat infection. Cosmetically correcting your smile has many benefits, beyond just enhancing the appearance of your smile.
