I had an ear cleaning last year by Dr Hall in this practice. Id had one the year before in Radford office with no problems whatsoever. However, after the visit, I began getting bills from them for $600+ & showing that Medicare hadnt paid (& so neither did my supplemental insurance). I called Medicare & was told the procedure was filed as an annual procedure & so they had refused to pay. I explained it wasnt an annual procedure but was done only as needed. They said the doctor needed to reflect that in the filing. I spoke to the office manager who said shed get the dr to correct the filing. Again, I got a bill. Called again. Medicare said nothing had been changed. I wrote a letter to Dr Halls office disputing the charge. Still nothing changed. Today, May 14, 2018, Ive gotten a call from a collection agency in Missouri re this charge. I told them why I feel its an unfair charge & how I dont believe its my responsibility. Time has now expired for refiling with Medicare, so Im left with this exorbitant bill (I mean how much time did it take, 10 or fewer minutes & they charge over $600 for it!?!?!?). Im going to write the hospital with whom theyre affiliated, Lewis Gale, & explain my grievance. I may get nowhere but its certain Ill never use this practice again & I'll warn everyone I know, online & elsewhere else, to avoid them. It wouldve taken basically nothing to correct the issue & theyd have been paid by those Im paying to cover my medical expenses. Instead I may be forced to pay this extremely high bill.
