Information Technology Department of the County of Bingham in Idaho, located in Blackfoot, Idaho, provides consulting, programming, training and problem-solving services to other county departments and their employees. It is responsible for evaluating the IT needs of various departments, designing integrated solutions, acquiring the needed computer equipment, software and supplies to meet current and future needs, facilitate implementation, train county employees and monitor progress. It installs a geographic information system for assessors, public works, planning and zoning departments and the sheriff's office. It has contracted with Computer Arts, a service provider specializing in government software development and computer services, to provide the many different types of software programs needed for the different departments. Bingham County started automating their office functions in 1981.
