It conducts basic and translational research for organ-directed disease processes and diagnostic techniques, such as electron microscopy, immunihistochemistry and molecular diagnostics. Anatomic Pathology has expertise in heart, lung, liver, breast, kidney, genitourinary tract, bone and skin diseases, as well as specialized investigation of embryo and fetal diseases. It is a division of UAB Department of Pathology, which provides clinical services and conducts productive research programs. The department s Outreach Program includes laboratory and pathology, and professional and technical consulting services. Anatomic Pathology is located in Birmingham, Ala.
