Sav-A-Life East is a Pregnancy Resource Center offering free, accurate and confidential pregnancy tests, limited ultrasounds, and an Earn While You Learn (EWYL) parenting program. We do not judge our clients. We understand that an unplanned pregnancy often brings fear and panic. If your test is positive it will forever change your life no matter what choice you make. You’ll want to make the right choice, one you can live with. We’ll help you sort out your options and YOU make YOUR choice. We care about your physical, emotional and spiritual health. Many of our volunteers have themselves experienced an unplanned pregnancy. They understand what you’re going through and truly care. You are not alone. This is a safe place and if your test here is positive, an early, free ultrasound can confirm the baby is alive, with a heartbeat, he/she is in the womb and the gestational age. The cost and type of abortion does not change until after the 12th week of pregnancy. You have time. The EWYL program enables mothers to learn about their bodies changes during pregnancy, the baby’s development, parenting skills and other life lessons while earning Mommy Money to spend in our Baby Store. You do not have to be pregnant to be in the program. Mom’s with babies and/or toddlers benefit as well. We carry baby clothes only up to size 2 or 3 because of space limitations. We take donations of new or like-new baby clothes, lotions, wash, shampoo, pack and plays, hi chairs, strollers, learning activity toys, books, etc. and, of course, diapers and wipes. Groups can hold a diaper/wipe drive for us or host a baby shower. In 2012 our mother’s spent over $22,000 (In Mommy Money!) on baby things in our Baby Store, saving them that much at the store in real money. We have two convenient locations. Our Main Center is on Gadsden Hwy almost into Trussville. Our satellite Center is on Old Springville Road in Chalkville near Publix. The Main Center is open M-Th from 9-4. Chalkville is open M, Tu & Th Noon – 6 PM. We would love the opportunity walk with you through a time of unexpected change.
