  Halli worked in interventional radiology while obtaining her Masters degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. During her nurse practitioner training, Halli focused on family medicine, emergency medicine, acute care, and women’s health. She has a heart for women’s health and enjoys caring for women of all ages, in all stages of life.

  Halli is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. Following graduation from Shelton State in 2012 with an Associate degree in nursing she obtained her Bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Alabama in 2013. Halli started her nursing career at Children’s of Alabama and worked in medical surgical as well as the emergency department. Halli pursued travel nursing that led to a nurse care coordinator position of a surgical division at Children’s Hospital of Colorado. After her son, Weston, was born, Halli and her husband moved back to Alabama to be near family.

  “This ‘let’s-take-it-out-and-look-at-it’ method of diagnosis has contributed to the high cost of health care,” said Dr. Winchester, “especially when you consider that three out of four biopsies prove to be benign. This means that three out of four women are having needless surgery.” For women with a palpable mass, needle biopsy is the first option Dr. Winchester explores. This procedure uses a local anesthetic and a tiny incision over the mass. Tissue samples are extracted through a needle for analysis. Dr. Winchester also completes ultrasound-guided biopsies and cyst aspirations when the abnormality is best approached with ultrasound guidance. If the lesion is detected on ultrasound exam, a patient can have a biopsy on her first visit.

  High Field Strength (3Tesla) MRI with dedicated breast coils available on campus providing image details better than found in many university and academic facilities.

  Dr. Winchester also performs stereotactic biopsy in her office using the Intact(tm) Breast Lesion Excision System. In this procedure, mammography locates the abnormality. A computer than generates coordinates for the non-palpable abnormality. Then, a small probe is inserted to takes an "intact" sample of the abnormality.

  Dr. Princess Thomas Williams, a native of Columbus, Georgia felt called to become a doctor during her very early years. Following graduation from Tuskegee University she obtained her medical degree from Meharry Medical College. During her general surgery residency at Mercer Medical she developed a passion for diseases of the breast. Her interdisciplinary breast fellowship at Yale University allowed her to hone her diagnostic and breast surgical skills, and take part in research leading to conference presentations and first authorship of several manuscripts.
