In operation since 1982, Dixie Precision Inc. is a complete machine shop and rubber roll shop based in Birmingham, Ala. It caters to the country s manufacturing industry, including paper mills, steel mills, textiles, food processing, wood finishing, printing, metal coating and chemical processing, among others. The company also supplies finished wire drawing dies and offers recutting services to the wire industry. Providing a range of turning and boring capabilities, the firm specializes in precision machining of large shafts, industrial fan shafts, hubs, screws and sleeves. Machining capabilities include boring, milling, turning, drilling, sawing, threading, welding and inspection services. Additionally, Dixie Precision provides rubber rollers and urethane products, offering recovering and regrinding services and rubber roller repairs. Milling its own rubber, roll covers include nitrile, hypalon, neoprenes, silicone, urethane and other compounds. Its roller repair services include journal repairs, bearing work and more.

Does Dixie Precision machine industrial fan shafts? Really big fan shafts?
They do us a good job. They do all kinds of machining milling, turning, grinding, boring and they are willing to work around the clock. We use them because they hold really close tolerances and have lathes that are long enough to do our work which is usually 20 to 35 feet long. They are a really good job shop machine shop and best of all they deliver not jsut to Birmgingham, but to our sister companies in Tennessee. and Mississippii. They have big manual machines, and they have some CNC equipment. They do large fan shafts and hubs. Besides Fan shaft they machine new cores, and recover rubber rolls and rollers. They also do grinding and regrinding. Journal repairs, bearing work and balancing.
I dont think they do rechroming.

Great folks. Good work. They do really big machine work. They also have a company that refurbishes rolls and rollers. regrind grind roll cover recove roller.
