I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE ALL THERE PARTS COME FROM PULL-A-PART SO FYI THEY SAY THERE NEW BUT THERE NOT THEY ARE A RIPOFF FROM HELL AND THEY CHARGE WAY TO MUCH ESPECIALLY WHEN CUSTOMERS THINK NEW PARTS ARE BEING USED. ALSO IF YOUR PAYING WITH BANK CARD DEBIT CARD ETC MAKE SURE YOU KEEP A CHECK ON YOUR ACCOUNT I WILL BE CALLING THE BBB FIRST THING MONDAY MORNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I GAVE ONE STAR JUST SO I COULD POST MY REVIEW
I'm giving this place one star simply because it's impossible to give Automotive and Truck Doctor zero stars. I have a horror story to share about this place, but first I'd like to draw the reader's attention to other reviews posted about this place, both on this forum and others (such as google, yelp, yellow pages, etc.). Any good reviews seem to originate from the same author, and it's rather convenient that one of them here on superpages insists that Automotive and Truck Doctor does NOT rip off single young women--when there happens to be a review on Google that accuses them of this specific issue. Anyone with a college education and ten minutes on their hands can easily google this place and use basic text criticism when reading the good reviews. Fun fact: JD Ismail, the guy who owns this place, has his name on a good rating on the Yelp page for this business. You won't see it right away, but it's one of the the "not recommended" reviews. This is a positive review that the owner contributed to artificially boost the reputation of his terrible business, but it still gets factored in when determining the overall rating. That means that whatever stars this place has on any internet source are likely made up and over-inflated. The bad reviews from actual customers are being mitigated by fake reviews, and it's happening across websites. As for my experience with this place, I can't say which is worse at Automotive and Truck Doctor: the lying, or the incompetence. My fiancee took his car here for a problem JD assured us he could fix for much less than the dealer's service department was going to charge, but OVER TWO MONTHS LATER the car still wasn't fixed. JD was hard to reach and almost never returned any of our calls. He never gave us an estimated time of completion, nor an estimate for the work. After a month, I was sure we could no longer trust this guy, so I called around to some other mechanics. They picked up the phone the very first time and when I told them what we needed they had the integrity to say they couldn't help us with our somewhat unique car problem. Go to any of those guys, NOT Automotive and Truck Doctor. In the end, JD admitted defeat and towed our car to the dealership, where THEY fixed it. Someone else had to do his job for him!

Horrible experience, customer service and overall situation. Dropped my car off for body damage repair and finally received it back 3 weeks later. Within those 3 weeks, I never received a call for an estimate, job performance, or an ETA for job completion. The only call I received was to inform me that my $500 navigation unit had been stolen out of my vehicle. Every day was a complete struggle working with him, trying to remain in contact for vehicle status. It is outrageous and inexcusable that for a 6.5 hour body and paint job that it took 3 weeks to complete. Never-mind the fact that they installed parts from Pull-A-Part, so there was no need to wait for shipment. Though, he did what he had to to compensate for the stolen head-unit, I would never trust my vehicle, let alone anyone else's, to the Automotive & Truck Doctor shop.
My daughter had her Infiniti towed to Crown Infiniti in Hoover to get a new altenator put in. These Bast#$#'s tried to charge her $813 plus $108 for the diagnostic check...I called 3 other dealers and they were all 35% less. Luckily I remembered JD at Auto & Truck Doctor on Lorna Rd...he did work for me 7-9 years ago. With one call he went and picked up the car, paid the Crown overpriced diagnostic fee, ordered the part and had the car ready for my daughter by noon the next day...at half the price!!! THAT"S WHAT I"M TALKING ABOUT!!!!! Service, Service & Service at a fair price! Guess who's number is in my and my daughter's cell phone now??? Guess who I will bypass the next time...CROWN INFINITI of Hoover, Al.
I have dealt with Auto/Truck Doctor for many repairs. It started when I got a diagnostic/estimate from Ford for repairs on an Expedition for over $2,000 in 2003. Truck Doctor did it for less than half. Since, they have worked on 4 different vehicles for me and I am @ 90% satisfied. They will listen to any issues you have and try to make it right. As you probably know-Car repairs can sometimes seems like a traumatic experience. I have recommended Truck Doctor to people I cherish as friends & I would not do that if the Company impressed me as rip-off Artist.
JD knows his stuff inside and out - he tells me what's really wrong with my car, which usually interprets into NOT costing me as much as someone else. I'm a single female, so I have learned I can count on him for that, time after time. Prices are very reasonable, but for the service and confidence you get leaving there knowing it's done right, he's worth much more. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is I can trust him - with my car AND his rates. I now live in Auburn, but will take my Honda to Birmingham IF if it ever needs anything.
