Prevocational Services is a program of Sheltered Work Shop, an organization that provides training and employment for disabled people. The program helps individuals with developmental disabilities that require additional support to develop acceptable behavioral workplace skills. The skills prepare individuals to work in an integrated community setting by practicing skills training and work knowledge in a supportive environment. The activities include support and training related to areas, such as following directions, attending to tasks, task completion, problem solving, safety, and assisting the person to adjust to the production and social relationship demands of the workplace. The people eligible to participate in pre-vocational services include those with developmental disabilities, including mental disorders, cerebral palsy, autism, epilepsy, and neurological impairment that occurred before 22 years of age.
