Founded in 1976, AWARE is a private, nonprofit corporation that provides a range of community-based services to people with mental, emotional and physical needs. It employs a work force of more than 700 people in over 25 communities. The organization serves youths and adults with mental illnesses and disabilities. It offers case management, foster care, outpatient clinical, and psychiatric rehabilitation and support services. AWARE administers the Early Head Start program, which is conducted in its nationally accredited infant and toddler training site in Montana. It also accepts Medicaid health care plans. In addition, the organization provides ancillary and contract transportation services.
