Well, the new store is open, and is for the most part the lifeline for many in the surrounding area. It's new, it's buffed, it's shiny. Sherri and most of her crew is no longer there. It was the people that really gave the place a personal touch for most of the locals. We can't speak for every item there, but the breakfast pizza (a highlight for most around the area) has sure gone into decline with the new store opening. It seems a shadow of it's previous self. As my wife said, "Thin, tough and spongy." Nobody made them like Virginia use to make them, with Wednesdays being $1 pizza day. They may still be able to redeem themselves if only they could bring back the Redbox. I didn't mind paying the higher price of "off-the-highway gas" to get a good slice of breakfast pizza and a movie on the way home. Many of us have gotten into the habit of going to Martensdale to their station the last few months. I don't know if this new store can acquire the same amount of loyalty the old store previously had. Good breakfast pizza and a Redbox would be a good start...and a down-home woman manager, too.

Hello, this is Nick. last night Friday, November 15th. 2012. I hit a Deer just north of the #56 exit on Interstate 35 heading south. I came into the Kum and Go and found out something happened to my radiator and it was leaking water. I was stopping there anyway because I needed gas. Your store is one of my regular stops when I'm in that area. Well, anyway I found that I needed help. Chris the person on duty was very helpful and I wanted to thank him, After I found I couldn't do much and I'm not a mechanic I decided to leave it there with Chris's permission. I got a ride home and I live down by Lamoni, Ia. Today I called and spoke to sherri, she said the truck is ok. I told her that I was arranging to get it fixed. She was very helpful and gave me the name and number of Middle river auto, troy. The help that your store has given me is very much appreciated. This is not the only time I've got help there.I want to thank Nancy, Chris and Sherri and all the other people there. Nick
