  John has been involved in numerous complex cases, including successfully representing a family of one of the victims of 9/11. In that matter he dealt extensively with the Victim’s Compensation Fund and obtained an award in excess of $3 million for the family. His comprehensive settlement package was used by the Victim’s Compensation Fund as the template for future settlement demands.   In addition to representing business clients, Anthony has also focused his practice representing litigants in matters involving trust and estate matters. In recent years, for example, Anthony and the firm were successful in arbitrating a complex trust issue which permitted a beneficiary to benefit from the sale of commercial property valued at over $100 million. Because of Anthony’s experience in both the superior court and probate and family court, he has been appointed as a commissioner in the sale of property; as a trustee in cases which involve litigation experience and as conservator and guardian in cases involving substantial estates.

  Anthony Metaxas is a civil litigator and has extensive experience with business litigation and litigation involving fiduciary relations both in the context of closely held corporations and trusts and estates. Anthony has served as counsel to one of the largest private transportation companies in Massachusetts and has overseen that client’s litigation matters for over 20 years. Additionally, Anthony also serves as counsel to a number of other business clients providing legal advice on a constellation of issues. Prior to forming a private practice in Essex County over 40 years ago, Anthony was employed as an assistant federal public defender who participated in the defense of several multiparty “white collar” matters. In 1979, Anthony founded the prominent North Shore firm of Metaxas, Norman & Pidgeon, which he later merged with the North Shore firm of Brown & Brown to continue the firm’s focus on litigation.
