The Division of Building & Safety, a division of the Beverly Hills Community Development Department, works to protect the public by enforcing building codes and regulations. It provides building inspections scheduling services through Internet and telephone. The division provides a community preservation program that includes code enforcement, animal control, property maintenance and rent stabilizations services. It conducts plan reviews and issues building permits. The division provides access to various building records, such as trade permits, certificates of occupancy, code violations and soils reports for residential and commercial properties. The Building & Safety Division offers a green building program designed to improve commercial, multifamily and mixed-use projects. It is also responsible for safety issues during the demolition and alteration of buildings, including matters related to electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems. The division is administered by the City of Beverly Hills, Calif.
