The company is a drywall specialty contractor that performs work within a defined range of scope. Allied Construction works in the areas of heavy and light gauge metal framing, insulation and vapor barriers, gypsum board, exterior insulation and finish systems, metal lath and plaster, sprayed on fireproofing, acoustical ceilings, wall panels and other acoustical specialties. Allied Construction Services maintains offices in Bettendorf and Des Moines, Iowa; Kansas City, Kan.; Omaha, Neb.; and Peoria, Ill. Robert Maddox founded Allied Construction Services in Des Moines in 1950.
