We are lucky to have this great establishment right around the corner from the school and home. I debated several locations to send my son who was interested in "karate" from other commercials on TV. I was pleasantly surprised that a MMA class for kids specializing in these southeast Asian Pacific martial arts is offered so close. It's way more beneficial than the traditional karate or taekwondo classes where belts are given just for showing up. Bethel Academy of Martial Arts has a great implementation of discipline and respect in your children. Guru George, along with Guru Joe, and all of the helpers, have a wide spectrum of knowledge on building confidence, strength, self defense, maintaining a good attitude, being sociable with greetings and handshaking, all the while creating this in a fun environment. My kid can't get enough. He wants to go every day of the week!

My son started attending BAMA a few months ago and he loves the place. Guru George is a firm but fair teacher and truly loves the children he instructs as much as he has a passion for the martial arts he trains them in. The school is convenient and his youth assistants are great with the students as well

I can not stress enough how beneficial the Bethel Academy of Martial Arts has been for my daughter. It teaches kids vital life lessons that they dont get in any other school environment. Best of all, she loves going!

The Bethel Academy of Martial Arts not only delivers on its promise to develop a foundation in self-defense and a strong healthy body, it provides critical life skills for our children: self-confidence, respect for others, and a balanced view of how to address challenges. My kids have been attending Bethel Academy of Martial Arts (formerly Karate America) for nearly 8 years, and it has been amazing. My son has achieved his Jr. Blackbelt and my daughter is well on her way. My daughter originally wanted to started doing "karate" after attending a birthday party held at a martial arts business. There are several karate / martial arts businesses within the greater Danbury area & I was debating on which place to chose for her based on tuition & schedule etc. My CFO at the time (who is a 2nd degree black belt) advised me to pick the institution not based on price or class schedule but based on the instructor(s). The instructors / business owner for BAMA are phenomenal. Their primary focus is not only to teach the art of martial arts but to also teach my child invaluable life lessons on self defense along with self confidence through martial arts. I have seen such an amazing progression in her ability level along with her self confidence and respect towards others since starting at BAMA. This is an exceptional family owned business and we highly recommend it.

My son has been at BAMA since it was Karate America, and it's been a revelation for us. While going through some tough personal transitions, it's been one of the constants in terms of quality teaching (thank you, George and all your helpers!), instilling discipline, and engendering confidence. Those are skills that help my son in so many walks of life. Rather then the shy, reserved kid he once was, he now is constantly using his "polite greetings" to make friends with other kids. Bethel Academy of Martial Arts is a gem of a class in downtown Bethel. My son has been going there for almost 2 years and looks forward to the class every day. The kids not only learn great martial art skills in a fun environment, they also learn about self respect, confidence, stranger danger and how to deal with bullying. The teachers Guru George and Guru Joe are fabulous, really love what they are doing and give it their 100%.
