- DrivewaysThe house footprint is small and stepped to minimize excavation and to protect trees. Above the footing, the house projects out from the hill and between the trees. One car is located in the driveway apron, and the other two cars are double stacked in a garage meeting the city parking requirements.

The house is designed to feel rooted to the landscape using board-formed concrete retaining walls that build the terraces, stairs, and foundations textured and colored to connect to the landscape.
