General Info
OhioGuidestone is a community solutions organization. We offer a unique blend of behavioral health treatment services, skill building programs and prevention opportunities for children and families. At OhioGuidestone, many of our clients struggle with a lack of education and life skills, and don’t know how to access personal or community resources to help them improve their situations. We not only help resolve problems that already exist, but teach skills to help individuals become self-sufficient, and prevent future obstacles to success. Our services help individuals not only to survive, but thrive. Since 1864, we’ve been a part of the Berea community, rooted in faith and a legacy of serving children and families for over 150 years. While our roots remain in Berea, today our supports reach statewide, with 13 offices in seven counties, and many of our staff members working in the homes of our clients, to provide effective treatment in a comfortable environment. OhioGuidestone is always looking for passionate people are committed to our values to make a difference in the lives of children and families in our communities. Whether you work with children in our child care program, residential treatment, provide counseling or offer support services, you can impact lives and inspire change right in your own backyard. We’re proud of our legacy of serving children and families in need for over 150 years. We were founded in 1864 as the German Methodist Orphan Asylum, which was dedicated to providing shelter for Civil War orphans and care for neglected, dependent or abandoned children. In 1960, the agency shifted its focus to serving children and youth needing specialized therapeutic programs. Today, we serve over 23,000 children and families annually throughout the State of Ohio. Our experience and expertise in finding comprehensive solutions for families have helped us evolve into the leading organization dedicated to preserving family relationships and helping make children, families and communities stronger. We have successfully completed six separate audits. McGladrey and Pullen LLP completed our overall financial audit, A-133 federal audit, pension audit and Ohio Department of Job and Family services agreed- upon procedures. We also have had successful audits of our Ohio Department of Mental Health Services through the Cuyahoga County Community Mental Health Board and Workforce Investment Act funding through the City of Cleveland.
