Turnpike Commission Ohio
General Info
The Ohio Turnpike Commission administers and maintains the Ohio Turnpike. The mission of the Ohio Turnpike is to operate and maintain a user-fee supported highway with sound financial management that provides motorists and travelers with safe, modern and helpful services. The turnpike spans 241 miles along the northern corridor of the state from Indiana to Pennsylvania. The Commission has recently started work on a project to replace existing service plazas with more state-of-the-art facilities, offering larger facilities, an information wall with travel and weather information, a larger variety of food offerings and expanded restroom facilities. Ground was broken on the Ohio Turnpike in 1952, and it was completed and opened to traffic in 1955. The Ohio Turnpike Commission has offices in Berea, Ohio.
