Purchased Members Mark Trail Mix from SAMS club, produced by Ann's House of Nuts. My husband ate a handful of mix and bit into an earring. As noted on the bag, the company assures a quality product. Called them, & after four attempts finally spoke wih a manger who took information, asked for the earring & remaining product. Said they would turn it over to their insurance. We requested just $50 from Ann's House of Nuts for a dental exam. Several months later we received a letter from their insurance denying the $50 claim. Stated there was no evidence to support the earring was in the product when it left the factory. Said something could have fallen in the bag when it was opened. My husband opened the bag and ate a handful of trail mix. He is 62 years old and does not wear earrings. The insurance said the burden of proof is on us to prove the earring was in the mix, not their insured company to prove it was not. A $50 claim denied for a foreign object in a food product? Unbelievable!
