Monument Elementary School enrolls more than 140 students in kindergarten through grade six. Its academic curriculum includes reading, writing, arithmetic, music and physical education. The school works for the development of creative, critical thinking and problem solving skills of children. Monument Elementary School also provides learning support and special education services. In addition, it promotes the social, academic, physical and emotional capabilities of students. The school s library maintains a collection of books and publications. Additionally, it operates a gymnasium and computer laboratory. The school features a parent-teacher group that conducts meetings, as well as supports various events and activities. Located in Bennington, Vt., Monument Elementary School is a part of the Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union, which serves the educational needs of students in kindergarten through 12.
