- Emergency CareI have personally experienced several challenges this past year. Not the least of which was on December 14th when my husband had to be taken by ambulance to the Emergency Room at St. Charles for excruciating shooting pain from his upper back down both his legs while the strength and sensation in his legs gradually disappeared. We now know, without a doubt, that the area of a person’s brain that is responsible for processing pain is the same region that is processing emotions: past, present and future. Unfortunately, the medical establishment is not designed to be able to take the necessary time or offer appropriate financial reimbursement to practitioners for considering a person’s
