The company is a producer of portable X-ray fluorescence analyzers with an installed base of more than 12,000 units throughout the world. The analyzers can identify and determine the elemental composition of many samples in seconds. Handheld NITON instruments provide users with real-time, on-site results and eliminate sample analysis turnaround time with instruments that provide features comparable to those of larger benchtop systems. Thermo Scientific NITON analyzers are used for many kinds of nondestructive sample testing, such as identification and chemical analysis of metal alloys for production quality control, positive material identification and metal recycling.
