General Info
Willow Technology, Inc is a privately held company founded in January, 1991. In July, 2008, Willow's headquarters relocated from Silicon Valley to just north of Bellingham, Washington in rural Whatcom County and 10 minutes from the Canadian border and began construction of a new Grade A office building to serve as its headquarters and data center. In December, 2009 Willow was able to move into its new office. Willow's primary business is in messaging middleware software products. Willow ports WebSphere MQ middleware to many different operating systems, and the company has been the leading independent supplier of WebSphere MQ client and server products since 1996. The products are developed under licensing agreements with IBM Corporation and are owned by Willow and sold under the Willow logo. Willow has also developed its own line of MQ add-on products under the brand viaMQ. These products allow users to take advantage of MQ infrastructures without having to modify existing applications. Willow is also the parent of AirZip, Inc, a company acquired from its investors in January, 2005. AirZip specializes in market leading information rights management, and patented image compression technologies. Willow has developed its own line of MQ add-on products under the brand viaMQ. These products allow users to take advantage of MQ infrastructures without having to modify existing applications. Willow has launched a separate business unit specializing in integrating mobile wireless workers, sensing and telemetry applications with the enterprise. Products include the Ectropyx enterprise integration for sensors and Ectropyx mobile deployment platforms. Willow has developed an advanced infrastructure supporting order fulfillment, billing and logistics to support the product development part of the business. Distribution handles delivery of product based on orders as well as updates and upgrades for those customers with maintenance agreements. This infrastructure is highly suited to small and medium sized Independent Software Vendors ( ISVs ) targeting the corporate market. Remote Operations Service Many smaller organizations do not have the staffing and expertise to maintain WebSphere MQ networks, especially when the primary purpose of WebSphere MQ is to connect to external suppliers or customers. Willow maintains several WebSphere MQ networks on behalf of its customers, offering monitoring, troubleshooting and maintenance for a fixed annual fee. Timesharing Service Willow's laboratories have over one hundred enterprise class servers running more than two dozen different operating systems with high speed connections to the internet. Willow customers, partners and ISVs use these facilities for benchmarking, development, testing, and proof of concept validation. These can be done locally on site, or remotely via secure VPN connections. Professional Services Willow can assist with architecture, design, deployment and integration of distributed systems. AirZip ( Now part of the Willow family, Willow continues as a worldwide distributor and integrator for AirZip )
