Dr Kunal T. Shah is a board certified Optometrist who is DPA and TPA licensed to use therapeutic medications by the CA state board of Optometry. Dr. Shah graduated with high honors from Southern California College of Optometry in 2003 also serving as an active member of the Beta Sigma Kappa honor society. Dr. Shah is a member of The Rio-Hondo Optometric Society, The American Optometric Society, The California Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association. Dr. Shah grew up in Cerritos and attended Cerritos High School. Upon his graduation, he was awarded the Student Access to Science Scholarship typically awarded to the class valedictorians to attend CSULB for his under-graduate degree in Human Physiology with a minor in Chemistry. He then went on to pursue his passion of being an Optometrist by attending Southern California College of Optometry. Dr. Shah specialized in Ocular Disease management by working at the VA Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada and on a Navajo Reservation in Gallup, New Mexico. He also specialized in surgical co-management working with patients at the prestigious Barnet Dualaney Perkins Eye Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. The lure of Southern California drew him back home and Dr. Shah worked for 7 years as the Chief Surgical Optometrist with one of the largest LASIK surgical groups in the Los Angeles / Orange County area. I love hearing their life stories, the birthdays, the weddings, vacations they took...love seeing their kids and grand kids " - and it's this family oriented philosophy that landed Dr. Shah in his private practice in Bellflower, CA. "I want my patients to feel like they are a part of my extended family - and I would give my patients the same medical advice that I would give my family members".
