- Arthritis
- Plantar FasciitisThe most common cause of plantar fasciitis relates to faulty structure of the foot. For example, people who have problems with their arches, either overly flat feet or high-arched feet, are more prone to developing plantar fasciitis.
- Pediatric CareDr. Lensing is trained in all aspects of the lower extremity including forefoot, rear foot and ankle reconstructive surgery; trauma; wound care and limb salvage surgery; sports medicine; pediatrics and arthroscopy. As part of her residency training, she also traveled twice to Mexico for the Yucatan Crippled Children’s Project and provided surgical correction for pediatric deformities.
- Emergency CareThe structure of the foot is complex, consisting of bones, muscles, tendons, and other soft tissues. Of the 26 bones in the foot, 19 are toe bones (phalanges) and metatarsal bones (the long bones in the midfoot). Fractures of the toe and metatarsal bones are common and require evaluation by a specialist. A foot and ankle surgeon should be seen for proper diagnosis and treatment, even if initial treatment has been received in an emergency room.
- Diabetes Care
- UltrasoundPhysical therapy. The rehabilitation period following immobilization sometimes includes physical therapy, such as exercises (range-of-motion, strengthening, and conditioning) and ultrasound therapy.
- MRIThe diagnosis of an Achilles tendon rupture is typically straightforward and can be made through this type of examination. In some cases, however, the surgeon may order an MRI or other advanced imaging tests.
- X-Rays
- ArthroscopyDr. Powers specializes in advanced surgical procedures of the foot and ankle, including rear foot and ankle reconstruction, ankle ligament repair, ankle arthroscopy, and sports-related injuries. He also has advanced training in pediatric and adult flatfoot reconstructive surgery.
- Wound Care
- Ankle SurgeryDr. Buddecke routinely gives scientific lectures on foot and ankle surgery at medical conferences around the country. He often teaches surgical techniques to other physicians at various surgical skills courses. He has also been a member of the Education and Scientific Affairs Committee for the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons over the last several years and currently chairs that committee. Dr. Buddecke takes a lot of pride in maintaining his academic knowledge and keeping up to date with the latest techniques in foot and ankle surgery. He is passionate about reconstruction of the forefoot, hind foot, and ankle as well as foot and ankle trauma.
- BunionsEven though bunions are a common foot deformity, there are misconceptions about them. Many people may unnecessarily suffer the pain of bunions for years before seeking treatment.
- Arthroscopy
- Ingrown ToenailsImproperly sized footwear. Ingrown toenails can result from wearing socks and shoes that are tight or short.
- Reconstructive Surgery
- Cyst
- Sports MedicineDr. Seymour believes in providing the best care for her patients. She is able to pursue this with her expertise in both conservative and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. She recognizes the important balance between conservative and surgical care and strives to obtain this with her practice. She is trained in a wide variety of foot and ankle pathology, including correction of foot and ankle deformities, trauma, ankle injury, ankle arthroscopy, sports medicine, pediatrics, wound care and limb salvage surgery.

- General PodiatryA native Nebraskan, Dr. Buddecke grew up in Kimball. He received his doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa in 1998. He completed four years of postgraduate hospital-based surgical training at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines. This surgical training included additional fellowship training in foot and ankle trauma and reconstruction. This included overseas training in advanced deformity correction with pediatric orthopedic surgeons at the Orthopaedic Hospital – Speising in Vienna, Austria.
- Ankle InstabilityEarly treatment of a subluxation is critical, since a tendon that continues to sublux (move out of position) is more likely to tear or rupture. Therefore, if you feel the characteristic snapping, see a foot and ankle surgeon immediately.
- Ankle SprainMany people mistake an ankle fracture for an ankle sprain, but they are quite different and therefore require an accurate and early diagnosis. They sometimes occur simultaneously.
- Bunions ProblemsBunions are most often caused by an inherited faulty mechanical structure of the foot. It is not the bunion itself that is inherited, but certain foot types that make a person prone to developing a bunion.
- Flat Feet
- HammertoesDr. Hinze specializes in foot and ankle surgery, including tendon tears, ankle ligament repair, flat foot reconstruction, and forefoot deformities such as bunions and hammertoes. When possible, she follows a protocol of attempting conservative care first, prior to pursuing surgical correction. However, if conservative care is not the proper course of treatment, or should it fail, her expertise in foot and ankle surgery allows her to pursue the proper surgical treatment.
- Heel SpursHeel pain is most often caused by plantar fasciitis, a condition that is sometimes also called heel spur syndrome when a spur is present. Heel pain may also be due to other causes, such as a stress fracture, tendonitis, arthritis, nerve irritation, or, rarely, a cyst. Because there are several potential causes, it is important to have heel pain properly diagnosed. A foot and ankle surgeon is able to distinguish between all the possibilities and determine the underlying source of your heel pain.
- Heel Pain
- Ingrown ToenailsTrauma. Sometimes an ingrown toenail is the result of trauma, such as stubbing your toe, having an object fall on your toe, or engaging in activities that involve repeated pressure on the toes, such as kicking or running.
- Plantar FasciitisPlantar fasciitis is an inflammation of the band of tissue (the plantar fascia) that extends from the heel to the toes. In this condition, the fascia first becomes irritated and then inflamed, resulting in heel pain.
- Podiatric SurgeryDr. Buddecke is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in foot surgery and reconstructive rear foot and ankle surgery. He is a member of both the Nebraska and Iowa Podiatric Medical Societies and the American Podiatric Medical Association. He is also a member and very involved with the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons.
