The Shelly Company is a subsidiary of Oldcastle Materials, which is one of the leading suppliers of aggregates, asphalt and ready mix concrete in the United States. Founded in 1938, The Shelly Company consists of 47 asphalt plants, 31 aggregate operations, 14 ready mix plants, and various paving and road construction operations. The company is based in Thornville, Ohio and has more than 650 locations nationwide. Its service offerings include asphalt production, contract paving, limestone mining, liquid asphalt storage, ready mix concrete, and sand and gravel. The company has associations with Asphalt Institute, Flexible Pavements of Ohio, National Asphalt Pavement Association and National Ready Mix Concrete Association. Ohio Department of Natural Resources awarded The Shelly Company with the Public Outreach Award in 2008.
