I was a Walt's, South Holland, customer for many years. I've also frequented the Walt's in Homewood and, when moving to Beecher, I shopped at the Crete store and was so excited when the Walt's opened in Beecher. I'm afraid the Beecher store is the worst Walt's I've been in. The bakery goods are disappointing and I've been disappointed with their meat as well. The selections are slim and the staff is not friendly. A checker who has been there a long time, made a mistake with giving my daughter too much change. When brought to her attention, she just took the money back and said nothing. No "thank you", not even a smile. I remember when Mr. Walt used to greet customers and their kids in the So. Holland store and there were always donut holes! Walt's may be the only grocery store in Beecher, but I for one, go by several other grocery stores to and from work where I've been doing more and more of my shopping. I'll give it one star for convenience.
