The Bedford Police Department provides community policing services to the town of Bedford. It has more than 25 sworn officers, over 10 communications officers, a school crossing officer and nearly 20 traffic officers on its staff. The department offers law enforcement services and a variety of traffic safety and crime prevention programs. Its traffic division handles cases of aggressive and drunk driving. The Bedford Police Department provides special services against domestic violence that include verbal abuse, threats, and physical and sexual abuse. In addition, it has certified safety seat technicians who provide assistance in installing new seats and inspecting existing seats in vehicles. The department is located in Bedford, Mass.
