Susan McDuffie, LMFT I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and families on personal growth issues. I enjoy helping people move toward growth and away from a stuck state. Additional areas of specialty are: Sexual Abuse, Self-Destructive Behaviors, Resource Building, and Professional Business Coaching. Credentials: Susan holds a license in Marriage and Family Therapy. She graduated with an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fairfield University in 2001. She has been in private practice for 12 years and currently works out of her home. Along with her MFT training, Susan has also been trained in other techniques such as EMDR, NLP, and hypnosis which she often integrates into a typical psychotherapy session. Susan works with individuals, couples, families and adolescents. Issues she is most passionate about are sexual abuse, emotional abuse, domestic violence, self-destructive behaviors and teaching core competencies and self-reliance. Prior to working as a therapist, Susan worked with the chronically mentally ill at the Valley Mental Health Center in Ansonia and as a crisis worker at Waterbury Hospital's Behavioral Health Crisis Center. She was also trained to work with victims of domestic violence.
