The Baytown Jail is a part of the support services bureau of the Baytown police department in Texas. The jail holds all arrestees in Baytown until their release and transfer to the Harris County jail. The police department provides police services to the citizens through various other bureaus that include administrative, community services, investigations and patrol. Its community services bureau provides crime prevention education to the citizens of Baytown through its crime prevention and DARE units. Its investigations bureau specializes in the follow-up criminal investigation of reported criminal events. The patrol bureau operated by the police department provides the main police services of patrol, traffic enforcement and accident investigation.
