McKenna has always had a passion for people and science. Becoming a physician assistant has been a natural extension of helping people help themselves. Working in a long-term care facility, McKenna found great satisfaction in forming trusting, respectful relationships with her patients and helping them through challenging periods of their lives. In oncology, there is so much momentum to be better. It is an environment that fosters new research, techniques and treatments to improve both patient experience and outcomes every day.McKenna has a special interest in patient education. As a lifelong learner and former college teaching assistant, she prioritizes effective communication to ensure patients understand their conditions.In the past, McKenna has volunteered with Girls on the Run for 8 years. She and her husband are Kalamazoo natives. Together, they enjoy road trips, cards and hiking with their German shepherds.My goal is to provide compassionate, high-quality care. I believe in the strength of partnerships that encourage trust, informed decision making, and overall wellness for each individual going through their cancer journey
