Battle Creek Central High School, located in Battle Creek, Mich., is part of the Battle School Public Schools. Founded in 1908, it offers a college preparatory curriculum to more than 1,700 students in grades nine through 12. The curriculum provides learning experiences in language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, health, physical education, art, computer instruction, business, design technology, and career and educational planning. The school focuses its priorities and resources on expanding opportunities in science and math reasoning, critical-thinking, technology and effective communication skills. Battle Creek Central High School students are also encouraged to participate in extracurricular opportunities in music, art, clubs and service organizations and athletics, including basketball, football and volleyball.
