Our second magnet is a high field Siemens MRI which performs a wide variety of exams, including evaluation of the neck, spine, shoulder, and hip.

  Dr. Ryan Bliss is an orthopaedic surgeon at the Baton Rouge Orthopedic Clinic, who specializes in hand, wrist, and elbow surgery. He provides both surgical and non surgical treatment to improve function and reduce pain. He focuses on complex trauma and reconstruction of the upper extremity; injuries to soft tissues including nerves, tendons, and ligaments; wrist arthroscopy; and elective treatment of nerve compressions and hand arthritis.

  What is your speciality? I specialize in hand surgery. It appeals to me because of the meticulous nature of the work and the complexity of the structure of the hand. I also do quite a bit of elbow work for that very same reason. The elbow is actually a complex relationship of three joints inside one joint capsule. Making it even more fun is the fact that all three major nerves to the hand wrap tightly around the elbow.

  After completing orthopedic surgery residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, Dr. Accardo was further trained in Musculoskeletal Oncology at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida. He was also granted and completed an international traveling fellowship in both musculoskeletal oncology and orthopaedic trauma in Oxford, UK, Bern, Switzerland, and Padova, Italy.
