I love Deep South been going there for years!! The ribs are my favorite, their vegetables are good too, stewed okra, turnip greens, cheesy spaghetti and yams are great. I wish they'd give you more vegetables they seem to be skimping in the last year.

I just moved to Baton Rouge and was craving bbq. A friend recommended Deep South. I tried the sampler. The ribs were really flavorful. ----Now for the Bad. I have never had spaghetti mac and cheese before so that was a different experience that I will never try again, The potato salad was more like mashed potatoes with to much mayo. The bread budding was the texture of jell-o and flimsy. The chicken....OMG, The chicken had to be a low grade chicken because once I pulled it back it was dark brown and red. I can admit that the bbq sauce was tasteful. The sausage was not the proper sausage. The sausage on the sampler was and should be used in red bead and rice. A polish sausage would have been better. There are a few items left to try so I will give them another chance to redeem themselves.

this is the best barbq place in town the potatoe salad is the best. the prices are reasonable
