Established in 1948, Batesville Fire Department is a private, incident response service organization governed and managed by an elected board of directors. Batesville offers fire protection to more than 15 million-square-feet of residential and commercial properties and under the guidelines of the Mississippi Department of Insurance. The department employs more than 95 professional firefighters that offer an array of services, including emergency medical services, hazardous material operations, confined space rescue, vehicle extrication, and cold water and high angle rescue. Its members participate in the Mississippi Firefighter's Certification program and First Responder - Defibrillator program. Located in Batesville, Miss., the fire department utilizes fire engines manufactured by Pierce.
