Established in 1897, Batesville Elementary School offers educational opportunities to more than 670 students in pre-kindergarten through grade one. With a staff of over 100 employees, it operates a library and computer lab. The school offers classes in music and art. It maintains administration and maintenance departments. The school operates a booster club and conducts several fundraising activities. It provides a variety of food items. In addition, the school offers Title I, English Language Learners, accelerated reader and special education programs. Batesville Elementary School is governed by the South Panola School District, which also operates Batesville Intermediate School and Batesville Middle School. The district s schools are approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement. Its schools participate in the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E) program.
