The Department of Human Services provides a variety of human and social services to the residents of the State of Arkansas. It also maintains divisions of volunteerism and youth and medical services. The Department of Human Services specializes in adoption and foster care programs. The department additionally offers alcohol and drug abuse prevention programs. It provides child care licensing and family support services. The Department of Human Services operates a behavioral treatment unit, as well as handles a child abuse hotline.
