The Clermont County Municipal Court, part of the Clermont County Clerk of Courts, provides services for resolving and recording legal matters. It administers individual justice to identify and remove barriers to access. Through its divisions, the court protects individual rights and liberties and protects the confidentiality of court participants as required by laws. The Clermont County Municipal Court has jurisdiction over traffic and nontraffic misdemeanors and has the authority to conduct preliminary hearings in felony cases. The municipal court also has civil jurisdiction and handles cases in which the amount of money in dispute does not exceed $15,000. Located in Batavia, Ohio, the Clermont County Municipal Court has a criminal division that is responsible for criminal cases where the possible penalty is limited to no more than twelve months incarceration or a maximum fine of $1,000.
