New York State School for the Blind, also known as NYSSB, is an educational institution that operates a range of academic and enrichment programs. The school serves children suffering from autism, mental retardation, learning disabilities, and visual and hearing impairments. It spreads across an area of more than 15 acres. And offers various clinical and support services. The school conducts special education and recreational programs. New York State School for the Blind features a gymnasium, swimming pool and playground. It also administers a variety of day and integrated residential programs. New York State School for the Blind is a part of the Office of Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities, which is operated by the New York State Education Department.
