J.B. Nelson Elementary School offers a range of academic and learning programs. The school enrolls students in kindergarten through fifth grade. It provides a variety of academic programs, such as English, mathematics, science, social studies, literature, and health and physical education. The school also offers special programs in music, speech, newspaper reading, writing and computers. It offers various athletic activities, such as basketball, cross country, baseball, softball, and track and field. It involves students in several cocurricular activities that include Christmas celebrations, sports tournaments and field trips. The school additionally has a parent-teacher organization that organizes volunteer programs, such as fundraising and classroom activities.
